Dr. Xu is a Full Professor and Director of the Masters Program in the Department of Mathematics at Illinois State University. In addition to his academic role, he is also a Co-founder and Director of Machine Learning for Rankiteo LTD. Throughout his career, Dr. Xu has had the opportunity to work as an advisor and consultant for other companies in the industry, bringing his expertise in cyber insurance and statistics to help them navigate the challenges they face.
Dr. Xu is the founding Director of MSMCI (Mathematical and Statistical Methodologies for Cyber Insurance) Laboratory at Illinois State University, where he leads a team of researchers who are dedicated to solving real-world problems in cybersecurity by developing innovative mathematical models and statistical methodologies. His research focuses on cyber insurance, statistical modeling, and risk analysis, with his work being published in prestigious journals and receiving numerous awards, including the 2019 Best Paper Award from the Soceity of Actuaries.
